On 13 August 2021, there was a sense of excitement, and even a fair degree of nervousness in the air, as members of the Seth Mokitimi Methodist Seminary (SMMS) community lined up to get vaccinated.

Students and staff within the 35 – 39 age bracket heeded the call to get the corona virus vaccine, arriving early at the vaccination site within the seminary chapel. The Dean of Chapel, Rev Luvuyo Sifo, together with the KZN Departmeent of Health officials were present at the vaccination site.

According to Rev Sifo, most students and staff showed great interest in being vaccinated. They eagerly lined up to get the single dose of Johnson & Johnson Covid-19 shot.

Rev Sifo says he is pleased the initiative has provided protection to members of the SMMS community, and thanked all those who have come forward. He has also thanked the Department of Health for collaborating with the seminary on this very important initiative.
