SMMS RESPONDS TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

The Seth Mokitimi Methodist Seminary (SMMS) joins the rest of the world in responding to the Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.

SMMS announces the following measures:

  1. The academic programme is suspended with immediate effect, until Monday 20 April.
  2. The daily morning chapel services are suspended with immediate effect.
  3. The Wednesday evening services are also suspended with immediate effect.
  4. The Sunday services are suspended with immediate effect and will resume on 26 April.
  5. The Seven Words service scheduled for 28 March is cancelled.
  6. All Easter placements are cancelled.
  7. All seminarians have been instructed to return home.
  8. All seminarians and staff members are advised to adhere to the strict measures of curbing the spread of the infection as stipulated by the governments of their respective nations.

We will keep you apprised of any developments.

This is a time that we should be responsible with our lives and the lives of our loved ones and neighbours. We also should look to God for healing of nations.

The community is encouraged to say the following prayer [adapted from Psalm 57:1]

“Have mercy on us, O God, have mercy; for in you we take refuge. We will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until this disaster has passed. Amen.”
