A mere five minutes from Pietermaritzburg’s Oribi Airport and the bustling city centre of the capital of KwaZulu-Natal, the Seth Mokitimi Methodist Seminary (SMMS) Conference Centre is situated along Golf Road in the leafy green peace of Epworth suburbia. Located at the edge of the University of KwaZulu-Natal and adjacent to Epworth Girls High School, the venue has won numerous international design awards. The architecture and cutting edge technology combine to create an environment that is aesthetically unique and have made the centre one of the most eye-catching buildings in the region. The peace, quiet and tranquillity of the surrounds make the venue ideal for conferences, retreats, spiritual exercises, team building sessions, product launches, meetings, weddings and funeral services.

The venues are all wheelchair friendly and a lift is available for first floor access.

All six venues are available in a variety of confi­gurations designed to best suit your requirements, ranging from 300 people to meeting rooms and breakaway rooms for smaller groups. All venues have full audio-visual equipment.

Free internet is available for delegates at no extra cost.

In house catering provides healthy, ‘home-cooked’ affordable lunches and dinners. However we are also able to offer a more upmarket range of food from our approved caterers, although NO alcohol is allowed on the premises.

The full day conference package includes tea/coffee or juice and a muffin on arrival, mid-morning tea/coffee or juice as well as a round of sandwiches per delegate, lunch and afternoon tea/coffee/juice and biscuits.

Weddings

The large chapel on the venue grounds offers the ideal opportunity for weddings of all sizes. With spectacular backdrops and an imposing facade, the chapel is one of a kind. Reception venues are available either in the Baumann Hall or in a marquee in the garden amphitheatre area. Indigenous gardens throughout the facility provide ideal photographic opportunities and a memorable venue for a memorable occasion.
